Hi all,
I have just built my first desktop (hurrah!) & it all seems too be working well despite the card reader not appearing to work - but this is not the problem I am seeking to be solved.
My problem is this:
I have a copy of Ghost Recon (genuine & supplied by BFG).
Everytime I try to load the disc it comes with the message "DirectX does not support the windows version on this system".
I am running Windows profession XP X64 Edition.
The build is made up of the following components:
Case: Antec P-180
Motherboard: BFG nForce 680i SLi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
Memory: OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2
Graphics Card: BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Sound Card: Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 Soundcard
Hard Drives: (2x) Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
PSU: Enermax Infiniti 720W EIN720AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
Prcoessor Fan: Zalman CNPS9700-LED CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
Other Parts: Scythe Card Reader & Floppy Drive - Black
Plextor PX800A 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Asus DVD-E616A3T Serial ATA 16x DVD-ROM
TDK Rewritable CD
4 port USB card
I know that DirectX 10 is installed because I actually installed it from the Mircosoft website, & all drivers have been updated; & all other windows updates have been downloaded.
If I try to load Ghost Recon it displays an error message relating to "redering".
This I can only belive relates to the DirectX problem.
I have trailed thru support sites from the manufacturers of the installed components with no success. Can anybody help me at all please??
Thanks.
