New build feedback and advice

Hello all,

I would really appreciate some feedback on the following build, which is my first. I would like to build it ASAP.

I have found a deal for the Processor, Motherboard and RAM. I have found another bundle deal for the Case and PSU.

I would like to use the PC to run engineering software, CAD programmes, mathematical analysis. Hence I need as many cores as possible (with a budget of course).

I would also like to play games on it, smoothly with not too much trouble, but I will not be able to spend £100+ on a graphics card.

Here is the proposal build http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/cwTq

I look forward to you input, feedback and advice, thanks.

1. I would drop to a FX6100 and get a better graphics card like a GTX 560(ti) or a HD 6870 or HD 6950. It will preform about the same, assuming you game.
2. try http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/part/patriot-memory-pg-d38g1600elk for the memory. It is 1.65V memory, but faster. and I know it will do 1600 with 8-9-8-24 1T @ 1.550V
3. Power Supply. Get one from Antec, Corsair, NZXT, OCZ, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, or XFX. not coolermaster.

I think it was about £20 more for the 8 core. Also, I am not sure if this would be a better option than an Intel i5 quad?

the AMD is cheaper, but the intel is faster per core. Meaning that a i5 @ 4GHz would outperform a fx4100 at 4GHz.
