New Build for friend (HP vs. Build)

Hey all!
My friend's family is getting a computer for christmas, but he is a big fan of HP. However, my other friend and I are trying to persuade him to let us build one for him.

Requirements:
Includes a 19" LCD monitor, and a decent Keyboard and mouse (somewhere around $20 for both key&mouse), XP Home (w/ Vista upgrade). It has to be under $900. This is stretching it already, as I think they are thinking more in the $700-$900 range. I would like 1GB of memory, as well as a 250GB hard drive. Basically, I need to prove that the built system is better than the best HP you build in that pricerange.

First off it's better due to having a Video card included. Nuff' said. Build own you can game. Buy HP and you have to add a video card basically unless you order online.

But here's what I got:

E6300 w/free GRAW game. $181

Windows XP Home w/Vista Upgrade $89

Leadtek 7600GS $102.99

Seagate PPD 250GB HD $74.99

Lite-On DVD R/W $29.99

Apevia (Aspire) X-Dreamer case w/420W PSU $49.99

G.Skill 1GB (1 stick) DDR2 533 $84.99

Biostar 945P with ViiV. $78.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813138034

Total $895 Shipped. (shipped to me that is @ 23452 zip) but this is also with the $20 off shipping using the promo: paypalfree where you pay with paypal. So it would be $915 without that.

You could go cheaper on the mobo and the Case/PSU. But this same system would cost him $1100 from HP. He would get the 7600GT with the HP for that price but IMHO I'd build my own. Plus he's getting a free game :D

A 7600GT is only around $10 more expensive :D

What monitor and key/mouse did you pick?

Yes you're right the 7600GT is only $7 more after MIR. But it's $25 more before the MIR which would have put it over budget.
