I just bought the below and was wondering if I should also invest in a graphics card or not? Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the following.

Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM

Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSDSC2CW240A3K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Corsair Graphite Series 600T CC600TM Mid-Tower Gaming Case

Also, should I buy Thermal compounds? The CPU came its a CPU cooler but didn't have any thermal paste.

If I were you I would buy a graphics card. A GT520 or HD6670 at least.

Also, is there a reason for the 2x8GB? You can save money and get 4x4GB and e better off cause you will have double the bandwidth with it.

the cooler that comes with the 3770 will have thermal compound already applied to the bottom of the cooler. All you have to do is remove the plastic cover, then install the cooler and your done.

I will have to double check the bottom again. Motherboard gets delivered Tuesday. Idea for the memory was to double to 32gb later as I want to run virtual pc with xp behind it. Plan is to use virtual of for web browsing. Physical pc for everything else. Because there are so many websites with viruses.

well XP is 32 bit. At 16 bit you will still have 12GB to use outside of XP, but the best way to avoid viruses would be to install a Linux 64 bit system to surf the web and use your windows vista/7 64 bit for everything. Save the windows from any virus by not installing the ethernet/wireless drivers at all thus not allowing any access to the web.

You definitely should invest in a graphics card if you want to do any kind of gaming or multimedia applications. If you don't want to do any of that sort of stuff, the onboard HD 4000 graphics are fine, my Dad uses them quite happily with his new 3770. My Dad runs virtual machines and the 3770 and 16GB of RAM is a good choice. 2x8GB is an expensive route to go but if you want to add another 16GB in the future then it's going to be easiest way to go.

You don't need a 750W PSU either, get the Corsair CX600 or TX650 - 750W really is waaayyy overkill for this build, even if you do get a graphics card.
