New build need help deciding on graphics

Ok so I'm trying to stay on a budget. Going to be going with the Amd fx-8350 4ghz 8 core processor. Going to run 8gb maybe 12gb ram. I want to be able to play newer games like watch dogs on high, what graphics card around $100 will accomplish this?

None unfortunately. And you don't need 12GB of RAM. Go with 4GB and put every spare cent towards the GPU, you will need to spend around 250 - 300 to get that kind of performance.

Ok then, what's my best option for card around $100? Unfortunately 250-300 is out of range and I need the extra ram for non-gaming reasons

$114 after rebate. But don't expect massive gaming performance. What GPU and PSU do you currently have? What screen resolution to game at? 1080P?

You will need to turn down the graphics settings in most games to make it playable with 260X. If you can afford $20 more, the 750Ti is a much better option http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121855.

Ok so my current computer I built specifically to get me through doing school work. So the graphics I have in that is very low end put in just to give me an hdmi output. I will be playing on 1080p with my new computer.

With the 750, down te road if I choose to add another for sli will it increase my performance noticeably?

You cannot SLI the 750. It doesn't have the SLI connection.

If you want to use SLI/CF you will need to get the R7 260X or here or essentially the same card here or here or the R7 265.

Please tell us what Power Supply Unit you have prior to buying either of the R7 cards.

So I just bought a powercolor hd7950 "open box" on eBay for 112. Did I do well on the price? This card, according to your chart looks pretty solid.

Why not enter all of your parts into pcpartpicker.com and post your build it would make it a lot easier for the community to help you.

Corsair cx500 psu. Also I was wondering, do games run on linux? I will buy most games from steam so was jw if linux would run these games. If not I'll go windows 7

Linux is beginning to support games, but run Windows 7 as it has far far more games supported. You can also dual boot.
