New Build Problems........

Hey guys, this is my first build and I'm stuck. I have installed the qx9650 on the asus maximus mb, 2 gig ddr3 ram (corsair 1333), 3870 1gig video card, chilltec cooler, samsung 500gig hdd. I'm pretty sure I hooked everything up right but when I turn the power on it seems like eveything in the case lights up, all the fans turn on but theres no beep and nothing comes up on my screen. Is there something im missing?? Is there any specific sata connection I have to make, or something with the video card?? I plugged the dvd drive and hdd to the sata ports on the mb. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx. Here are some pics

We can't tell from that photo.

Did you connect the PCI-E power cable into the video card?
Did you connect the 8-pin CPU power cable into the motherboard in addition to the 24-pin cable?
Did you make sure to use the gold pegs in between the motherboard and case?

I reached my picture aize limit.

pci-e pin connected
8 pin not connected to mb
24 pin connected
gold pegs are there.

can I just plug the drives to any sata port on the mb, or is there any special way??

the 8 pin powers the CPU. its either a 4 pin or 8 pin. right near the CPU is the connector spot. look towards the rear I.O. panel. its like around that or the CPU.
you have to put the 8 pin connectore thats with the PSU and plug that in

Thanx guys, I looked at it this morning before I left for work. The 8pin connector is rite next to the heatsink, I could't see it before. Thank god for this forum.
