New Build...thoughts

My business is gearing up in mid to late April and it seems prices are dropping about the same time...this means...Mo money, less cost!
I pretty much only play Flight SimX and I'm so waiting on DirectX10. I think that with the new Ati cards, I will be able to take full advantage of it. Here is what I want...I'll let you guys put it together.

CPU.....E6700 $550 shooting for $350 late spring...I may need something a little faster to run FSX at full settings its a cpu driven game.

GPU.....x2800xtx.......looks like it will blow everything out of the water $600-$650

Ram.....something in 1000-1200 mhtx range...I'm thinking 2 gb but maybe more? not sure if needed.

MOBO...something that can handle the Ram and something that can handle dual cards for the future.

Case...I'm pretty much sold on the Antec 900. As for cooling. with the c2d and the ati cards with some type of cooling(I will not be overclocking...will I?) I don't think I'll need extra cooling except for some good paste.

PSU.....Something that can handle everything without all the bells and whistles...no frills just solid power.

dvd burners.....one 1 dvd burner, 2 cd burners. Nothing fancy. My kids play music and make alot of cd's.

HD...a smallish 10k unit for the os and a 500 gb 7200 for everything else.

Operating system. ... I have heard it said that it takes Vista to get everything out of FSX. My question is......when will Vista be bug free enough to not give me headaches? and which Vista is enough to use the aero feature and get full access to DX 10? I don't know much about Vista.

I would like to stay under 2k if possible...if not, then somewhere close.

as for the Keyboard, Monitor, speakers and other periphials...I can handle those.

Well, you'll obviously be waiting a while to get this computer if you want ATI's new cards, and if you want to wait until after April for Intel CPU price drops. As for Vista, there's really not too many bugs in it, mostly just driver problems, I wouldn't count those as bugs since it's not really in the OS.

Below I have come up with a very decent build for the price.

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6700 - Retail

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-8500C5 - Retail

2x Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JSRTL 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Retail

SILVERSTONE SST-ST75ZF ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V 750W SLI Certified Power Supply - Retail

Total comes to $1,610.94

The only thing missing is the Graphics card. And the since the CPU price will go down the total will be about $1,400

I'm not really sure if it's better....But very similar. I'm not too sure though.
