I want to build a new rig and I want to know if this is a good setup of parts and how i could knock off a few bucks. also i would like to buy it all from Newegg. Also the max i want to spend is $900. Thanks!

**** Also instead of a Radeon 7790 it is a Radeon 7770****

Certainly looks like a decent build. You're actually better off buying from the same place - just makes life easier.

I would recommend you go for an R7 260 or R9 270 instead of the 7770 or the 7790. Newerr cards. You could also get a slightly cheaper case such as the Zalman Z9 or Z11 and get the FX-6300 and a 970 motherboard to save money. You also don't need that $20 fan. If this is a gaming build, put as much into the graphics card as possible!

It may make life easier, but at the end of the day you can get a better computer overall if you order from multiple places. Its worth it, trust me.

Personally I just see it as a lot of hassle - especially if you have to send anything back. It's not even like Newegg is limiting anyway, is it?

Care to explain that statement? Rubbish statement as far as I'm concerned.

The way I see it, I buy all my stuff from one place (Newegg) and they can see that I'm a valued customer so I get better treatment should something arises.

I did had one problem at the beginning when I bought stuff for a budget build. The mobo had a damaged socket so I returned it and they rejected it as user damaged. That was not true as I've built many many computers without a hitch and I says so on ResellerRatings.

The higher up took notice and told me to send the board back and I'll get another one plus a $25 credit for my troubles. Everything's been good since then.

I like Newegg. :)

I do both. If I am just ordering stock (always keep new parts on hand for repairs) or a part for myself, I will order from where ever I get the best price. If ordering for a build I try to keep it at one place, if not it will usually just be one part from somewhere else just because of a really good price.

If you're on a budget and you decide to only buy components from one place you can't take advantage of deals from other places. By using those deals you can save money and spend it on other components. I.E if a 760 is $250 at one place and $200 at another, you could buy the $200 one and put the extra money towards something else, like faster RAM, better CPU, an SSD, etc.

It may be a bit more of a hassle, but it's worth it in the long run if you end up with a better computer.

But say you have a newegg preferred account and get free financing for 12 months for anything over $499. Wouldn't it make better sense to buy there? I think so.

Yea you can if you want to, but I wouldn't do it. Why? Well I'm a firm believer in anything can happen and to always be prepared for the worst. In between those 12 months you could go bankrupt, be in dept of somebody, have your personal items stolen, etc. Having to still pay off that debt would just make things worse. I pre-ordered the PS4 and split the cost with my brother, and pulling together that $217 was horrid and something I never want to experience again.

Think this has kinda got side tracked. If Armageddon happen I don't really see what that has to with ordering from one place or a bunch. I mostly order from egg when doing builds or just parts. But like your video card comparison, yeah sure if I was doing a build and the card was 50 cheaper from Tiger I would get it from there. But if the board is 5 bucks cheaper here and the memory is 3 bucks cheaper there and you save 7 bucks on the drive somewhere else. I'm just not going to do a build from 6 different places just to save a few bucks. With all the builds I've done I would have to have a spare computer just to keep up with where everything came from.
