if i have an existing tower that i want to keep and upgrade my system (video card, mobo, maybe ram, cpu, hdd) that kinda stuff how will i be able to tell if it will all be compatible

on another note how do oyu know if something bad is in hijackthis? do you just browse it untill you find something out of place or do oyu exsactly what to look for?
