New but slow

Hey!

Right, my mates got a new pc and after having lots of problems with it and gettin new parts etc, its finally up and running. The problem is, it seems to be running slow, he says when he drags about programs windows, like vlc player, or folder windows etc, its all jerky n slow, so is the internet when scooling down the page. Hes got the latest drivers on, and SP2 installed so I dont have a clue whats the problem now! Any ideas anyone?

Also, hes CPU (intel p4 3.4 Ghz) keeps juming down to 2.8Ghz when its idle, ockerclockers.com said thats normal- is that just intels way of lowering heat/power while CPU is idle?, or is there a problem there? (hes already had a new mobo so not the mobo's fault)

sounds like the graphics drivers are not installed or not working correctly.

Find out the make and model of the graphics card and then download the latest drivers for it and install....hopefully should solve the problem
 
i agree with jimmymac, you havnt any drivers installed, service pack 2 doesn't help this matter of gfx drivers, you need the proper drivers from the website.
