New Case Problem

A little while back I got a new computer case to replace the boring old HP tower I had. The new case was the Apevia "X-Cruiser" and I really like the case, it has great cooling, see through window (you get the point:P).

Well anyways I was able to transplant all of my components into the new case without much of a problem (down to the HP memory card reader). The problem I am having is that the front audio connections don't work. I don't see why not, because the motherboard has all the connections labeled and the old case had front audio and all of the connectors are the same, so there shouldn't be any problem right? (BTW, front USB ports are working OK, have not tried firewire yet.) Also, whenever I plug any audio device into the audio output at the front they make a buzzing noise.

Would anyone like to take a crack at this?

The connector is probably not completely compatible. The easiest solution is to buy a cheap sound card and hook up the front panel connector through that.

I thought it would be though, I am looking at the two right now and the one from the old HP case is EXACTLY the same, 9 pins, with one pin spot on the bottom blocked off on both. This is confusing...I think I will try plugging this old one in and doing some more work.

EDIT: When I opened the case to look at the connector there were a couple wires in different spots on the connector so you were correct in assuming the connector was incompatible.
