Ok time for a new case, this time im going with the Coolermaster Ammo 533http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119098. Since it only has two fan slots, I would like to add another 2 80mm fan slots...

First one I would like to put in the extra 5.25 drive bays, like this one that jan did:

And the second one I would like to do under the carrying handle... also like jan did (his case is similar to the one im gettin):

Any advice on how to go about doing this would be appreciated, since im fairly new to modding and not exactly sure how to do it.

When i cutted a Fan inlet in the site of my case, i took the fan, measured the diameter for it, and measured the holes for the screws.. I drew the lines onto the case, took a drill, an started drilling many, many holes on that line.
then i took a dremel-like thingy, and cutted the small pieces wich still holded the 2 parts together.. and then i smoothened the circle, and screwed in the Fan :)
also... it doesnt need to be perfectly cut btw.. you can use a Fan grill to cover some less good looking spots (Revoltec has really nice ones, i used them at least :o ) they have a 3mm thick circle.. leaves plenty of space for errors :D

Ya I got fan grills for it, so i guess i'll try that. But any ideas how I would cut the 5.25 drive bay fan? Using the same method maybe?

Also while i posted the thread, you guys think that case is a good investment?

cutted?

Well, I have that case and I did an easy case mod that let me put a 120mm fan in place of the spare drive bays. All I did was take out 3 of the bezels and hot glued some wire mesh there. Before I hot glued the mesh I had attached the fan with some screws through the holes of the mesh...but if you want to do it the easy way then buy this.

As for the fan on the top you could just make some screw holes around the vent(there's a vent already on the top of the case for those of you who don't know).

Ya I could do something like that, but I have a really cool looking skull fan grill which I would like to put over the fan, so cutting through the front would be best, just trying to make sure that I have the right idea of doing this, like knowing exactly how jan did his would help a ton.

BTW Yasu, how do u like the case? Any flaws?

It's a good case. The only thing that I don't like is that instead of a window it's just two pieces of mesh which makes it a little harder to see what you have inside, but I guess that helps bring in more air for your CPU...

Ya they say it does that fairly well. I like the mesh concept, you can pull of some really cool lighting witht that, which im hoping to try and do.

any need to pick up on spelling or typo's?

Can't blame me for beeing dutch.. i know my engish really isn't good, at least everyone know's what i mean with it tough ;)

Edit: and yes skidude, you can do really, really cool things with meshes,. I putted a stainless steel grill into the sidepanel of my old case, nad with the light on it, it looks really cool. Unfortunately my current case has a side window,.. else i would have done the same again (still looking for a closed sidepanel for the case i currently have,.. but i dont think they are available )

I putted a stainless steel grill

Spelling error forgiven :P ;) I figured the mesh looked better, I have like a billion blue LED fans and a blue cold cathode so i think Im gonna do some really creative light modding with this case as well as fan modding.
