i know ive got my 7600gt xxx and its really good, but i want to know you know splinter cell double agent the video requirements it supports up to 7900 but what about if you get the new chipset the 7950. the 7950 is a newer chipset so will it be future proof so couple years down the line new games will support 7950 and not 7900 because 7950 is the new chipset

well.. the Game Ballistics is optimized for Geforce3 grafic's cards.. Yet i can run it on my 7800GTX SLI setup :) usually the newer chips are backwards compartible with the software. as for the longer staying recent.. that would only be a few weeks i think.

i dont think you understand me sorry im crap at grammer im on about splinter cell double agent
supported video cards time of release
NVidia® 6200/6600/6800/7300/7600/7800/7900

but if you get a 7950 isnt it a newer chipset than the 7900 so the 7950 will play new games and the 7900 will not

doubtfully.. both are directx9.0c cards.. and both are about the same speed.. they will be outdated pretty much at the same time

cool thanks man when you think games will not support dx9 no more because im gonna get windows vista soon and thats got dx10 hasnt it

All Geforce 6 series and 7 series will play new games that need SM3.0 or less.

Geforce 6 series and 7 series will not be able to play games when games stop supporting SM3.0 cards

But the games that will require SM4.0 and don't work in SM3.0, will be released after 1, 2 or 3 years. So thats a long time.

Now to answer your question, all games that run on 7950 will run on 7900 and vice versa. the 7950 will just perform better than 7900

My friend, I mean that the 7950GT performs better than 7900GT

And yes 7900GTO and 7900GTX can outperform 7950GT
