ok, just purchased all new parts to build a new rig. AMD 3700 San Diego, KN8 SLI MB, eVGA 7800 GT vid card, 1 gig ram, 250 seagate HDD, Lite-on DVD+-R drive.

i installed all of these fine w/ no problem, however, when i try to setup and install windows the setup process stops while copying the file dbgeng.dll, so i bypass this file by pressing escape. this same process continues with throughout setup w/ the computer copying some files and not copying the others. the system then resets and tries to begin actually installing windows but some of the files that were inproperly copied halt this process.

i wonder, what could be the problem bc i tried the disc on 3 other computers and it installed with no problems on each system. could it be the dvd drive, HD, improper bios setting?

anybody got any answers??? this is absolutely driving me crazy!!!!!!!

It is the disk, find a new one, I've had 2000 Pro and 2000AS do it to me with one disk and not another.

Could be your DVD Drive... I tried to install Linux on my DVD drive and it wouldn't copy over a file... So I tried it in my CD-RW and it work fine...

its really possible to b ur disk, i have 2 drives so 1 is dvd and 1 is cd - rw, and the dvd reads cds that cd-rw cant read and yes i m sure its a CD
