OK, guys and gals, I know that I asked allready for help, but still in a pinch I guess. Here is what I am looking for: a expandable mobo, that will outlast changes in technology, atleast 2g ram, with ability to increase, 250gb sata hard drive, all in one burner, reader, writer, ext. top end vid card. Intel duo core x6300 i think... its 1.8 gb case thats ok but not too flashy, and a power supply to support it all.

I have to admit something, I am a nursing student, and an EMT so my expertise is medicine, when it comes to computers, I am knowledgable just not in building and designing. Hopeing you all can help ease my fears on my first build.
BTW having a friend put it together for me hahah

budget of 700 to 800 USD

uses include: LOTS of medical programs, multi tasking, word docs. spread sheets, lots of music and when I can't think anymore, hardcore gaming.

inspiron 5150 laptop, intel P4@ 2.8gb, 512 ram, 40gb hard drive, Gforce FX 5600 @ 32mb windows xp home sp2
 
gaming... will be mainly RTS, cource, newer high end games, I am waiting for the new MMORPG Stargate worlds to come out and wanna be able to play it really well!
 
when would the best time be to buy the intel duo core processor.... I don't wanna wait much longer... is the price dropping now?? I wanted to order from newegg this up comming week
