new comp, on start up very high pich sound coming from 8800gt

the second i start up my newborn computer i hear an extremely high pich very loud sound coming from my 8800gt. i remove the card and start up and no sound. its not a fan sound. whats wrong?
 
If you're certain it isn't the fan, it could be capacitor squeal. Alittle bit of whining isn't usually dangerous but it's sounds like your problem is both annoying and potentially problematic. At the most it would require soldering an equal charge capacitor, but If you still have the warranty just return/RMA it.
 
Are you sure it's not the 8800GT spinning up the fan at max speed? My card used to do that until i got an aftermarket passive heatsink for it.
