i cant instlal windows because the drive isn't being detected by bios..its a serial ata sata drive..i plugged everything in correctly..appreciate any help

ive not seen a sata drive detected in the main system bios.... there should be a second sata controller bios that you see when you boot your system... enter that and then check your sata drive.
also, in order to install windows onto a serial ata drive you need to have a floopy disk of drivers for your sata or raid controller... with the disk inserted into the system and booting from your windows cd you should see a text prompt at the bottom about specifying a device or something like that by pressing F6... do this and choose the sata/raid controller thats in your system.

That should set you well on your way

yea its wierd my hard drive doesnt have the ide port to plug in the ide..im using a red wire with a black bottom its lik a line then a turn..iono y bios wont detect it..n now i hav 2 buy a floppy drive..then wut?
