new computer build is slow

so i just built my new computer about a month ago and it seems alot slower than my other pc i had and this one has better hardware. my specs are:

Abit IP95 PCI-E Mobo
2gb ddr2 533 Kingston
320 GB HD
WIN Vista Home Premium
GeForce 7950GT OC 256mb
Pentium D dual 2.66 oc'd to 2.98
580w blacksteel PSU

i dont know if i built it right. all i did was take my hard drive from my old pc and put it in my new one and my procesor also. i turned it on and it worked i didnt have to reinstall windows or n e thing. The pc is slower than my other pc and i was just wondering wut ur susposed to do after you put it together and turn it on. Im just thinkin i didnt do something and its really slowing me down. can any1 help. Oh and the specs of my old pc where:

Elitegroup Mobo
1gb Kingston ddr400
320 gb HD
580w PSU
pentium d dual 2.66
x800xt pe
 
you need to install all your drivers for the board video card and etc.
when you do that it might say you have to register windows within three days just register it then.
 
ya, you cant use the same chipset ,video ,sound drivers off your old board..did this barebone come with drivers disk for your board? if not download them from the website..should help alot.
 
yea format an reinstall your OS, then install all the new drivers an she will work like a charm.

well my brother bought the 9600 B.E from me..i got the cheap 5000+ Brisbane till the new 45 nm phenoms come out. to hold me over
