my monitor highest resolution is 1440x900 (i like the size of my monitor so i have decided to keep it)

you guys think this is a decent build?

I was thinking the same thing but they are still on backorder everywhere. I'll probably be buying a new card next year anyways. The benchmarks I’ve seen on the 5770's in crossfire have been pretty good.. Usually 50-80% increase. I figure with my max resolution of 1440x900 I shouldn't have any problem playing games pretty much maxed out with crossfire.

Your thoughts?

The other thing is i've already purchased this system I'm just waiting for it to arrive lol

Just for reference the system I am upgrading from is..

500 watt psu
Athlon 64 dual core 5000+
XFX Geforce 8200 MIA78S8209
2x1GB SLI (From OCZ i think) Ram 4-4-4-23 800mhz
Geforce 7300 GT 512mb (using hybrid SLI with Geforce 8200 256mb)

with the same maxtor HDD as my new build I have ordered

5770 CF load with 390W

700W PSU is more than enough with two 5770. Why do you need 1000W??

With a monitor with such low resolution, is it really worth crossfire. I would suggest you play with one 5770 first. If you see it not enough, grab another one later.

RAM - 4GB total. I really doubt if you need 8GB

If you can't get a 5850 or 5870 just get the two 5770's. one is enough to game at 1440x900 anyway!
