New computer help please.

I just got a new computer and 17'' lcd mon. well when i open web pages the pictures and logo's and ect come in blurry and in crappy quality.

when i right mouse click on the picture and scroll down to where it says "refresh page with full quality" it will refresh the page and the pic comes in alot sharper.

my res is 1280x1024 and i'm running in 32 bit color. Someone please help, this is driving me crazy.

You have all the latest chipset + GFX card drivers? If it's a new comp, and your running windows, make sure you've run windows update multiple times, and installed them all. Beyond that, it could be your browser. Get latest IE or firefox. Try options in browser too.
What broswer do you use, internet explorer, of firefox?
 
IE. I've only had it about a week. i dunno why its doing it. i'm a computer noob so please be easy with your descriptions or directions.
 
K. You have all the latest windows update (Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update)? That will also get you the latest IE version. Also, try going into IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, and make sure everything under Java and Multimedia are checked off, except for "Show image download placeholders". Also, under browsing, make sure "Enable visual styles on buttons and controls in webpages" is checked. Any trouble with that?
 
are u running ie through aol by any chance??? if u are:

To shut off compression, in the AOL program, go to Settings --> Internet web options --> aol browser tab --> choose Never compress graphics. Click OK.
 
i'm though earthlink

in the java and mulitimedia options they are all checked other then the one you said to check. dont i want the pics to show?
 
alright. wanna give your computer name? or if its custom, what is your graphics card? also, again: HAVE YOU RAN WINDOWS UPDATE?

Have a look at this .. i persoanlly recomend disabling cleartype as i find it fuzzes everything but try all three options and see which u like the most
 
There's no need for an LCD to degauss since they arent exactly magentically controlled (gauss = unit used for measuring magnetism) :)
