New Computer Old Hard drive

Im building a new computer, can i take my old harddrive with Windows XP on it and put it into my new computer, will it load up windows or do i need a fresh install.
 
When you make a major hardware change alone you often need a fresh installation for the amount of changes in one case. Once you have a new build together XP needs a totally fresh detection and hardware snapshot/profile of all of the hardwares there. Start backing up anything important off of the drive first. You will probably end up reformatting the drive as well.
