New computer problems

Just bought a brand new computer at cyber power inc, thing looks pretty sweet ^^

However, i have an 80gb hardrive that i was using in my old one (stats are listed in my sig for the old computer). But with the new computer, it won't load up. It comes to a screen that tells me to hit f11 for boot mode or hit f8? for something else. I hit f11 and nothing happens. I wait for windows to load, nothing happens.

I am using an AMD prc in the new one now instead of a celeron. Would that have anything to do with it? Or perhaps it is the type of hard drive that i have?
 
you have windows on the harddrive from your old pc and put it on your new pc. that wont work cause windows has all the drivers and everything set for your old computer and thats why it wont load on your new computer. you will need to reformat the harddrive
 
Yea you probly would have to reformat your hard drive, but this is weird. When i plug my hard drive into my friends computer(different everything in the computer) it starts windows just fine.
 
actually, i have also heard that sometimes when you wanna swap hdd's into another system and it causes problems, you can actually just do a repair on windows and it may fix it.
i'd say give a repair a try before actually reinstalling completely
