Hi everybody. I bought a new machine a few months ago from Cyberpower. Here are its specs:
AMD 64 x2 3800+ dual core
1 GIG PC3200 DDR RAM
2 80 GB Seagate SATA hard drives ( were running in RAID 0, but now I'm just using one of them )
2 nVidia geForce 6600 PCI-E video cards with 256 MB of RAM on each, running in SLI
Onboard Audio ( haven't got a discrete card yet, but I'm not using my surround sound. I'm using basic audio settings )
I have uploaded all of the new drivers for my video cards. I have downloaded AMDs dual-core performance fix. I just can't seem to get the performance I should out of this thing. On Counterstrike Source' video stress test, with the settings midrange at 1024 by 768 resolution, I get 7 fps. With the same settings at 800 by 600 resolution, I get 67 fps. I can play any game with medium to high settings at 800 by 600 just fine. Whenever I turn on HDR or up to a higher resolution than 800 by 600, my performance goes down the tubes. I haven't overclocked. ALl of my hardware is running nice and cool, no overheating. I know if I go back to RAID 0 I will get a performance bump, but not enough. When I had RAID 0 enabled, I still had this problem. My old system plays games just a little slower, and my old system is nothing compared to this one. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
