New computer will not display!

Okay new build starts up I dont have onboard speakers to know if it beeps, but i do hear 2 very faint short beeps. I hear everything kick on, including the hard drive, disc drive. I visually see all the fans running on the case on the cpu and the graphics card fan is running.

When I turn the computer on all I get is a no signal on the monitor, I know it works as I had it on another computer. All the connections are secure, the card is seated properly. The first video card i had was DOA, and the fans didnt even run. I got this one, the fans run but still no display. Im thinking the graphics card must be installed first but I cant install it if I have no OS on the computer yet?

Gigabyte 970a-d3 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II 955
Radeon HD 6870 Graphics
RAM Corsair 8gb 2x4
PSU : Antec 620w continuious power

Thanks in advance

Okay problem solved, Im embarrassed to say this because it may even mean my original Graphics card was actually okay, I forgot to plug in the atx 12v next to the cpu... I plugged that in and it started right up. I feel like a dumbass, i figured the only power cable i needed was the main 24 pin one, and didnt even look for another one... Thanks though guys... live and learn i guess lol

Soapy9963,

Thanks for telling us (and owning up to) the problem...but don't feel too bad about it, since probably all of us have overlooked something simple at least once -- and some of us a whole lot more than once!

Good luck...
