New computer

I am in the market for a new computer. I have an eBay based business and will use it for a personal computer as well. I saw a Samsung 21" All In One that I really liked at Best Buy in the $550 range. It was an open box item that I am sure has been sold by now. My main reason for an All In One is not having to buy another monitor along with the PC. I have a 2TB external hard drive so I am not that concerned about the size of the hard drive on the new computer. I have yet to mess with Windows 8 but it looks like that is the way to go. I really don't want to spend huge money on a PC as a lesser expensive one I think will serve my needs just fine. I will probably buy another, 2nd, computer for my house around the end of the year. What should I be looking for? I would like at least a 21" screen. Any particular models or brands? Is Windows 8 hard to work with? Any help or insight that you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't know what you should do. What do you want to do with the laptop ? Play a game, work in a project ?! A 21 screen is difficult to find. After, it depends of the use... However, I can say, that is difficult to work with, indeed Windows 7 is better but it's a detail.

Despite all the nay sayers, I love windows 8 and continue to encourage my customers to step outside their comfort zone and try something new. Once you get used to it, it's like riding a bike. Anyhoo, Now about your Pc delima. A lot of All in one pc's come into my shop and ask for repairs/upgrades. and ill tell you the same thing i tell them. When you're looking for longevity of a Pc, Don't think of all in one Pcs. The graphics card is often times soldered into the motherboard, it has onboard sound, everything is basically integrated into a giant motherboard. Anyhoo, the only usually things that are upgradeable, is the RAM, and hard drive. you can work on the other parts too but its much more pricey because of the solder work. You get a lot more bang for your buck with desktop PC's. If you're determined to have a touch screen, id recomend this.

Acer AZS600. Do a quick amazon, or ebay search the 23 inch model can be bought for somewhere around 600$. Don't expect any real expandability on any of these though lol.

My fiance made me buy her a all in one, and this is what she has been happy with.

Acer warranty?

I have found what looks to be a pretty good deal on an Acer AZS600G - UW10. This unit was recommended in this post. My main concern is that the one I am looking at is a refurbished unit. I can get one brand new in the box for around $100 more. Would I be better off with the new one over the refurbished one that has a 90 day warranty? Should I go to my nearest electronics store, about 40 miles away, and look over the computers in person before purchase? i am not sure which store, if any in my area, have this particular model in stock.
