because I have no idea what I am doing I'm just looking at what they have and see what would be better w/out over spending on my budget.

I would go with the second one. But if your going to be playing lots of newer games, I would recommend upgrading the video card, possibly to a 7900GT.

i personally wouldn't go with the bottom one yet, it is new technology so i would go with the top one (even though it is more expensive).

Whats wrong with getting an AM2 Processor/motherboard and faster DDR2-800 memory? If you benchmarked those two computers side by side, the second one would win.

Im not sure why the first one is me expensive, since they have the exact same parts except it's socket AM2 instead of 939. DDR2-800 is also more expensive, and the 939's motherboard is only $15 more than the AM2 motherboard. So im not sure why the first one is more expensive.

basically if your gonna try and get something new and high end, waiting 4 months for it to be "established" is foolish, by that time something newer and better is out, so do you then wait for that to be "established".

AM2 has been tested and tested over and over again by AMD, they WILL NOT put a new socket onto the market unless they believe it to be as stable as possible and working perfectly. Its just not worth risking their company on. If, and its a big if, there was an issue you could expect a recall and full replacement of any problem parts.

The 2nd machine is the better option if your looking to buy right now. It will perform better at the end of the day
