New Desktop

My aunt wants a new computer so I told her I'd make a list of stuff for her. I haven't been keeping up with the times lately, so I need some opinions on some parts. She doesn't need anything too fancy, just new and will stay okay for a couple years ;)

So far I have this list (note, prices are in CAD).

thats pretty nice syst, but isnt that a lil much for her performance wise? unless she has kids? just wonderin if you could ge the budget down

I don't think it needs to be that extensive, generally older people don't mind computer slowness. Heck, my mom still asks about punchcards.

Anyway, i think it is a little overboard, unless, like Echo said, if she has kids or other younger people who come to her house a lot. Or if she is your totally favoritest awsomest aunt, and you have money (and time) that you have nothing to do with.(not trying to make you selfish, but that is one heck of a present....)

1. Drop the soundcard way down unless there is a need for it
2. Jack the RAM count up
3. Jack the CPU up to perhaps the 540 if possible
4. Get a cheaper case, chenming 301/601s are dirt cheap :)
5. Have you considered AMD? Might be a bit cheaper
