New gaming rig!!!

at the moment i have a PS3 and thats where i play most of my games, but i want to build a pc that can pretty much max out anything... including crysis hopefully LOL i would like to keep the price around $3000 AUS

had a quote for a build from my pc store...

intel quad core i7 920 2.66ghz
500 WD hard drive
6 gig DDR3 ram
XFX GeForce GTX 295
Cooler Master Case
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit OEM
750W PSU

total - $2600
(from memory, at work at the moment lol)

so any advice would be awesome

How about trying to save some cash on a HDD so you can buy some extra parts? I have a 500GB HDD, and I don't even think I'll ever use even 1/8 of it, lol.

Is a cooler master your favorite brand?
 
dont really have a favourite brand... i do prefer intel processors, nvidia and asus. and i hear XFX make good cards, as for cases, PSU's, ram thats where i need help i suppose (man i sound like such a noob lol) i have built computers before but that was a couple of years back, i wouldnt have a clue on how to SLI graphics cards but i would like to have the option to do so down the track
