I've been trying to get a second opinion on whether this new build I'm thinking about ordering the parts for is good or not. I am kind of in a rush to make this new computer since I want to give away my current computer to my Dad since his old eMachine burnt out on him the other day. So please take a look and let me know your thoughts. Any input is greatly appreciated!
PSU: SeaSonic M12D SS-850 850W
Has an 80 Plus Silver rating so should produce more than enough power for my build at 850W, plus I've heard SeaSonic produces quality PSU's (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Motherboard: EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
Runs Stable, Good for Overclocking, Has a CMOS Button on Back WOO!
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz
Overclocked to 3.2Ghz
CPU Heatsink: HR-01 Plus with LGA1366 Bolt-Thru Board Mounting Kit
I pray this heatsink bracket combo works with the EVGA board...
Graphics: SAPPHIRE 100270SR Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2)
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
I think 3Gb should be enough, but please let me know if you think otherwise.
HardDrive: Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
Case: Antec P182 Gun Metal Black
I'm going to replace all the stock fans with some Scythe "Slipstream" 1200rpm fans and put one of the fans on the front of the HR-01
DVD Drive/Burner: Samsung Black
Going to stick with just 1 drive, but if I need another I'll get one.
Well that is what I got so far. In total it looks like it's going to come out to $1700-1800 which is just under my budget of $2000 (yeah I decided to treat myself with this one). Like I said, any input is greatly appreciated so please take a look over this and let me know what you guys think!
Thanks in advance!
