Hi, guys. I'm coming here to discuss an issue I don't have enough knowledge to fix yet.
The story:
My brothers computer's power supply died (was a cheap thing) so he sent it to the local computer people and they did their magic. According to the bill they gave him a Silencer PSU (is that even a brand)? He wanted to upgrade his graphics card so they gave him a new one and said he shouldn't encounter any problems with it. As soon as he tried to play a game (Skyrim, specifically) his FPS dropped to five. He tried what he could but couldn't fix it. After taking a look at his comp specs I'm thinking he's encountering a bottleneck from old components plus new card.
Computer:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
MOBO: Asus P7P55D
PSU: Silencer 750W
GPU: ASUS Nvidea Geforce 610 1GB
CPU: Intel i5-750 2.8Ghz Quad-Core
RAM 8gb (4 individuals) Kingston I think 1333
So what is going on, is there any way to salvage the computer, or should he buy new parts?
