new guy needs help choosing mobo for hd4870

Do I need PCI Express 2.0 compatible motherboard to run a hd4870? Will this motherboard run it efficiently? it says it has
1 PCI Express x16
3 PCI Express x1
3 PCI Slots
 
I don't think you will have a problem,

Pls NEVER post 2 threads about the same thing, the right person will come along.
 
eh... sorry to break it to ya. but it is an OPEN BOX motherboard. Unless you are some pro at finding drivers, you are screwed if you get that mobo by accident. OPEN BOX means it is only the mobo itself, no drivers, no nothing but the motherboard. Try looking around more and pay attention to what you are looking at =P

But still what motherboard would you guys choose?

it will come with everything, just the main picture is showing the motherboard, newegg does that.
 
sorry to be such a bother but you guys havent really answered my question.
What motherboard would you guys choose if you were building a whole new system and wanted to run the hd4870?

I really suck at picking out motherboard (only thing that doesn't make sense to me cuz of all the variables)
