Hello all,

Name's kyle, i'm new to the forums obviously. I just built my first 64 bit machine. this is what it consists of:

Mobo- ECS RS480-M V1.0 Socket 939 ATI Radion XPRESS200
Processor- AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
Memory- CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System

Now i'm looking for a video card. PCIx16, and under $125. I like to play SWG, so what's my best bet for a good fps?

Also plan to OC to 2.4 or so for daily use.

Thanks in advance,
Kyle

Thanks, that looks pretty cool. what do you guys thing about the refurb cards??? I realize they don't come with warrenty but they should work well right?

heya

The 6600 256MB is, in my opinion a waste of money over its 128MB brother. This is because the amount of memory on such a card does not make a huge difference at all and costs more. Additionally, the cards with 256MB of RAM tend to overclock badly because of the manufacturers often use slower RAM to keep the price down.

anyone else agree with him? i'm in the dark on this subject. So in you guys' opinion, what would be a good PCI-E x16 card in my price range??? Like i said my most pressing game played on it will be SWG, b/c well i'm addicted to it haha. Thanks again

Kyle

ok, i found my card. unless any of you have bad experience with it. My future card

lemme know what you think

Also i have ordered 10 fans. My case already has 2 intakes on the side, should i switch them to exhaust? I plan on putting 4 intake on the front, 2-3 exhaust on top, and 2 intakes on the rear. they are all Masscool 80mm 31.73cfm fans.

btw this is my case

Heya

Yeah this card should be much better than the plain 6600. However, it is weaker in most tests when compared to Nvidia Geforce 6600GTs BUT should do fine for most games ;).
