new hard drive installed, now neither shift key is working

title says it all. tried everything i can find through google. updated drivers. cant figure it out. any ideas.
hp pavillion dv2000 laptop.

The hard drive really shouldn't affect your keyboard, I wouldn't think. Have you tried putting the old one in to see if that fixes it?

The old hard drive was fried, at least that's what the warrantee service place said. We had to ship it to them for the repair. Could they have damaged something inside the machine? I hate to send it back to them again because it's already been shipped to them twice. Everything else works perfectly now.

only thing i could think is the keyboard cable seated properly? if your willing to you could disassemble it a little and check if the ribbon cable is tight

can't find anything that will fix it. guess we will be mailing it back to the repair place.
