I just finished building my new computer and I've got 2 WD 1tb caviar black hard drives installed with the OS (win7) on the first one. Last night, it was making this tinking sound and I'm not sure whether this is normal or if i should return it.
I took a video of it when it was making the sound. You can hear the muted sound that the hard drive makes (which sounds normal to me) but then you can hear a louder tinking sound on top of it. I haven't been able to get it to make the sound again all day and I have yet to get the other drive to make the sound either. So, is this normal or should i return to newegg? Thanks!
