i have an abit it7 max 2... if your wondering if its compatiable with sata i think it is,.... at leaste i would think so if theres 2 sata slots.... my question is how can i change it so that it looks for the sata slot and not in the ata? thats all i need to know

XP will require SATA drivers when installing Windows. These should have come with the motherboard CD, just extract them onto a floppy, and when installing windows press F6 when asked if you wish to install SATA/RAID drivers.

well my mobo's sata and the drivers were already on the board or something cause it read the disk fine without having to install drivers. When you go into bios, look for anything that has to do with the hard drive and there should be something that says IDE, sata, combined, or something like that.

ok well i just asked my mother board company for the drivers and they sent them to me... i put it on a disk and put it in the computer and pressed f6 when it said to durning windows instalation and everything worked.
