New hard drive purchase

I need to get a new portable hard drive for backing up my system.

it has to be 1tb
it needs a usb interface for most other systems but my computer can also handle ubs 3.0 and 1394a.

some drives have extra features lick password protection and what not I'd like to look into that.

I have had bad experienceS with WD external drives.

Personally I haven't had any bad experiences with WD it's all I've bought since my maxtor drive died a few years back. I personally don't mind the seagate drives but I haven't read any good reviews about them.
