Hello i just installed a second hard drive into my computer (Seagate barracuda 500GB SATA) I want to put all of my program files/User files/downloads/music/movies/ect ect onto this new hard drive. and use my WD Raptor 10,000rpm strictly for games and my operating system. im not quite sure how to do this? i tried cut/paste the program files folder to the new drive but figured it wouldnt work because all the programs are targeted back to C:\ which is my main HD, F:\ is the new one. But could anyone shed some light on this for me. Never had 2 hard drives before. it came with a Cloning software, but not sure how to make the programs files and everything else i mentioned work off of this new drive... its gettin frustrating.. thanks in advance

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to clone of your current primary drive onto your new one. From there, boot to the drive and uninstall the programs you do not wish to have loaded on that drive. And of course, worst case, you can still fall back on your old drive up until you clean it off.

is there a way to run the OS away from the programs files n such though? or do they pretty much stay together? kinda confusing

It's all preference. Some programs will allow you to change install directory. However, I would keep OS and programs on same drive/partition.

I keep my OS and Programs on the same drive and use a larger drive for archiving MP3s, Vids, and stuff.
