New hard rive will not show in "My Computer"

Ok so heres what's going on. i just put in a WD10EADS 1tb hard drive in my desktop. This thing will not show up when i open my computer. I initialized it, formatted to NTFS. When i open up my drives in the drive manager it shows it as being "Healthy, active drive". I hope i can fix this so i don't have to send it back. im in the military in Japan and it will take weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Does it have a Drive Letter?

If not, it will not show up when you open "My Computer".

In Drive Management, right click the drive and "Assign Drive Letter".
 
If its a new HDD you will need to format it. Connect it -> right click my computer -> Go to disk management on the left hand side -> Right click the new drive and click initialize -> then right click it again and click format -> do a quick format -> should now be in my computer.
