New HD -- Now MS Office 2000 pro broke

Hi, Got new maxtor 200GB HD - used maxtor prog. to format & copy boot drive files to new drive. Rpl'd old drive with new drive(old drive was not reused) Booted up great ran great for hours BUT when I clicked on the MS word icon I got an install message that it needed disk 1 from the ms office pro program. Put the disk in then it said it needed a update patch prog. that is not on the HD nor is it on the old HD. If I click cancel the program does come up & seems to work ok. All the MS office program icons went to the default windows icon. I tried formatting & copying 2x's & I get the same results. Any body have any ideas. Thanks
