Soo, i bought a new HDD for my girlfreind's computer because the old one is having major issues. It came with Seagate branded Acronis software. However, the data is corrupt so i can't clone it. What other options do i have besides reformatting it? I'm not sure if there are many, if any. But worth a shot.

If it is data like documents and the like, you can try installing the new drive, and then just copy the wanted data over.

Other than that your only options are to send it to a professional data recovery center, or loose the data.

Cases like this is the exact reason why you should always have quadruple backups on 4 different hard drives, and a copy in the web somewhere. You never know when you may loose data to a bad drive.

It runs a scan of the HDD every time it boots up. And the Computer is pretty slow for having pretty similar components to my computer. It is Significantly slower. It is her only HDD, it has steam games the OS, data files, ect. I am planning to back all of her stuff to my other HDD after I'm done fixing this to prevent this issue in the future. So as far as the OS I am assuming the generic copy/paste isn't going to cut it lol. I will just have to reinstall the OS and hope I can get most of the data to transfer over. Only ideas I have.
