Hey guys, I am new here and happy to be here. I am currently building a super budget PC from an old Dell T3500. I has been a rough and semi-long road but it has been coming along nicely so far. I wanted to do something I haven't seen before even on the web and there was almost no images or videos of people putting the Dell T3500 system in another PC case, so that's what I did. There are somethings I need to figure out like the I/O panel and other things but I will get there. I have been adding things to this PC randomly as I am a busy man but I plan to go through it this weekend and clean it all up to make it look pretty. I don't have any good pics yet of the insides but plan to do that after I clean it up.

I am at a total of $247.14, here are the specs.

Cooler Master Haf X (Modified)
Dell T3500 motherboard
Xeon x5687 3.6ghz
24gbs of ECC RAM
ThermalTake 700w Smart PSU
GTX 1060 SSC GPU
Cooler Master 212 RGB Black Edition (installing this weekend)
USB 3.0 PCie Card
3 of the 4 original 200mm fans
2 Samsung EVO 256gb SSD
1 One TB HDD
Some RGB Lighting

I am actually just learning about these chips and back in the day they were beasts but even now that can handle quite a bit. They are just lacking all the new technology that chips today have. If there is anything you notice about the build that doesn't involve a newer PC I am all ears. I am always willing to learn.

If you're looking for a 6 core upgrade, the x5680 or x5690 is pretty sweet. They can usually be had on eBay for pretty cheap too. With the right cooling, those things can OC up to 4.5ghz without hesitation.

I was on the fence about getting a 6 core versus a 4 core. At the time I bought it I was also purchasing other items and $30 instead of $100 for the X5687 was a good deal to me. Also, I would love to overclock my current CPU but I am on the stock Dell T3500 motherboard, from which I read can't be overclocked on.

Ok so I got the inside organized a little bit but still not satisfied. The motherboard is so big that things just don't reach haha, I need to make some 4 pin extensions for the USB 3 card and find a place for the I/O panel but for now, it will do. Any input on wire organization would be greatly appreciated.
