New here. Need advice on first gaming rig.

Hi, I'm NateWW, I wouldn't say I'm a complete newb to the PC world, but I have some gray spots on some of the more complicated tech that's out there. I'm looking to build my first gaming rig sometime in the near future. I have a rough list of what I'm wanting to put in it. My budget was about $800, I know, cheap. I still have room before I hit that mark.

Tell me what you think. I would like to know if all of the parts will correspond with each other, and if I have enough power. I know I'm missing a few things like cooling. Anything else I could add that wouldn't screw up my budget limit? Anything I should completely replace with something different?

Thank you,
-NateWW

Here's a couple screenshots of the list. Don't know how well you'll be able to see them. I can put them in 2 separate posts if need be.

Just put links in your post to the actual products as we can't see your screenshot very well. But from what I can see already, you definitely need some improvements.

Graphics cards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131481

Power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171037

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138360

HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149382

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196

I was told I need help with the HD too...

I need to figure out if I want 8gb or 16gb of RAM before that. Any suggestions?

Just forget the mouse, keyboard etc till I get the guts figured out.

Feel free to say where you think it would need improvement. That's why I'm here. To learn what works and doesn't. :)

I would like to be able to run some newer games coming out like Arma 3, Battlefield 4, etc. I like Minecraft and also use Skype quite a bit. My friend told me I need to upgrade the graphics cards to run Arma, which I can see doing.

Anything else that I would need to upgrade in order to run these qualities of games?

Sorry, I type what comes to my mind, which happens to be a lot right after I post something. :(

Ok, the problem I see off the bat is that you have listed an fm2 processor and an am3+ motherboard. They aren't compatible.

Hitachi hard drives are junk, video card may be a little weak.

You can go either am3+ or fm2 but you must choose compatible motherboard and cpu. Either will be a good build.

If you want to go am3+ then here is what you should get.

cpu - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286

motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519

If fm2 then this.

motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519

cpu - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280 Which is the cpu you linked to in your list.

Video card - 7850 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004

But if you can afford it go 7870 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202025

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

Memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231538

I was just wondering, wouldn't he get more power if he hybrid crossfired an hd 6670 with the 5800k instead of getting a 7750 with the 5800k?

Thanks for the input guys. I kind of abandoned that list after realizing all the issues.. I found a new website that kinda helped me with the compatibility issues. Here's my new rough list. It's a bit more expensive than I want it to be.. It'd be around $1013 with a second 7750...

See any way I can shave off some $$ from the list? Does everything work together better now? I'm still pretty uneducated with the Motherboard and things I haven't done much research on. I'm new to building PC's.

Thanks,
-Nate
