New High Performance CAD computer

I have posted on here previously about a 3d computer that I was hoping to build. I have learned, and read, more and am planning on passing on 3d technology for the time being. The demand for a high performance computer still remains. I have researched for a while but want to make sure I am going to build the best computer for the money I pay.

I am using a very intensive 64bit CAD program (and 64bit windows 7) that eats up memory and the GPU. Right now the budget is around 1500 dollars but I am trying to double that.

For the time being I want to assume the $3000 budget. Here is what I have so far:

(Major question here, do I go with 1 GTX 570 or something like 2 460's. I don't know much about SLI but can get into it if 2 cards would be cheaper/better than 1.

Is the difference between processors you suggested and the one I have picked because of the difference of price/value being extreme. i.e. high price for not much more performance?
Also, why not use 2 460s and SLI?

Thanks for your replies!
