new laptop ram

hey, i recently replaced one stick of 256 ram with a stick of 512 in my girlfriends laptop and she says that since then openening links from msn takes a while, also she switched from IE to FF ...there are no erroes being thrown saying there are memory erros... does anyone have any idea, or is it just not a huge increase in ram to notice

Not sure that this is your problem, but you might want to consider it anyway- are you sure you got the right kind of RAM- obviously you got the right kind as in DDR or DDR2, since your machine is still working, but there are different kinds of RAM, such as 2100 or 3200. I have never had an issue with RAM myself, but it might be something to consider. I would go to the computer manufacturers website and see if it tells you what kind of RAM is in it, and then try to get that stuff. Opening links might have something to do with the Internet or the network that she is on too. RAM doesn't always speed up webpages, it's mostly for programs. Just a thought.
 
thats what i thought too, yea it is the same pc 2700 333 mhz because she lives on a residence im thinking its just a slower network, but its hard for me to acutally know whats going on (as im not there) so im trying to guess all possibilites for when i see her next... thanks guys:d
