New laptop reinstallation trouble

Hi there.

I recently bought a brand new laptop (ASUS F553MA) which come with preinstalled Windows 8.1 which was fine, the first time I switched it on I went through the last steps of Windows 8 installation to set it up, I was testing the touch screen for most part.

I like my HDD's set up in a specific way so I formatted, set up my partitions and reinstalled Windows. However since I've done this the touch screen simply hasn't worked, I already downloaded all the drivers from the site before I reinstalled and installed them all, I also installed all the current updates and still it does not work. I've looked on the net and the constant 'solution' is to go to pen & touch options but nothing seems wrong. Looking through the drivers there doesn't seem to be any associated with the touch screen, only the touch PAD, which leads me to think that there are some generic drivers Windows uses.

This is pretty frustrating and I'm not sure what's going on, the main reason I bought this laptop isn't working. And there doesn't seem to be any information about this particular laptop on the net.

Does anybody know what's going on with this?

Cheers.

Well I should explain that it was my own stupid mistake, lol.

What I was doing was installing the MAIN set of drivers, but then I'd see that there some 'Unknown Devices' in the Device manager so what I'd then do is let windows browse the folder of drivers to find the right ones - which would install the technically correct drivers, but the problem is because I never ran the setup process needed instead.

Once I installed ALL of the drivers with the proper setup program then it worked fine - but I still thought it was a bit strange that, once the laptop was first ran and was at the last few stages of the Windows setup process that the touch screen was already working, but second time round it wasn't.

But who cares, its working now.

Thanks for your response though!
