New Laptop Setup Questions ?

Just purchased a new Toshiba X505Q870 Questions 1. Browser Google or Firefox ? 2. Is AVG free antivirus enough protection, should I buy the Identity protection from AVG, or is their more internet security needed? 3. I know I need to make a backup disk. Is there any other things I should do before I get on the web? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
 
i would uninstall any bloatware, if it came with any. avg is ok, don't know about their anti-id-theft thingy.

use whatever browser you like, or both.

and yeah, make some backup disks but more importantly, keep them where you remember and keep them safe.

and keep you OS up to date.

other than that, don't go anywhere you wouldn't mind other people knowing about, ;)
