new laptop with wrong power cable

hey people. i just bought a new laptop from ebay. it came from america but they said i will get a uk power adapter but it came with this one. im not sure what it is:

does any one know what kind of plu this is and would it work with this:

they are sending one out, but its gonna take 10-15 days they said and i cant wait that long.

this is an earthed US plug, and UK travel adapter will be able to handle this, you can use the one from argos as shown in you link, or ask you parents, if they travel a bit they will probably have one i think most households would

Lol...yes, there comes a time when everyone must find out. The voltages are also different between the U.S. and most of the world...the standard here in the U.S. is a 110 volts ac socket, and in most of the world, it's 220 volts ac. When I went on a cruise about a year ago, they had both 110 and 220 volt sockets. I think that they make the prongs different mainly so that you don't plug a 110v appliance into a 220v socket and really overload it.
