New laptop won't let old laptop hook up wirelessly

Hello everyone! I'm new to the computer forum!! My dad just got a new Dell Vostro 3300 Laptop. It's doing great, I'm currently switching all of his old info onto it. We are having a problem though. This new laptop seems to be kicking our old laptop off the internet. Like, both the new laptop and the old laptop can't be online together. Also, now the old computer won't even hook up wirelessly to the internet (even if the new computer is offline), we have to have the ethernet cable plugged in the back. I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. It was working fine before we got this new computer hooked up to the wireless internet. We only have one ethernet cable currently too, so it's not like I could hook the old laptop up to the router with a ethernet cable and have the other one online wirelessly because I need the ethernet cable we have to go from the modem to the router. If anyone has an idea of what's going on or could point us in the right direction of getting it fixed, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Oh, and our old laptop is a Toshiba. Not sure what model.

Have you checked to make sure that your router doesnt have a limit of the amount devices that can be plugged in

Also make sure that you haven't manually set Ip addresses, have it set to automatic.

try setting both to static ip's on your router, should do the trick (just make sure they're different!)
