New laptop

Ok so I my boss bought a second hand laptop from some guy, a fujitsu siemens Amilo M series. Pentium M 1.6ghz, 512 mb Ram, 80gb HD, 128mb graphics card. He'll sell it to me for the same price, 500lira which is £196 or $389. Seem a good price?

The wireless doesn't work but i get a zyxel wireless usb stick with it.

I personally will buy new one with £280 rather than second hand.
That CPU is slow and outdated. And you probably need to spend extra £20 - 30 to upgrade RAM

The shops in the UK would only sell celeron laptops at that price surely, even with linux os. I have one 256mb and 512mb notebook ram at home lyring around anyway so no extra cost there. I've tried it out out and the system is fast and responsive. You know how old that model is?

As you said Pentium M 1.6, it was out at March 2003...

for $500 you can get a laptop with a dual core processor, vista, twice the ram, and wireless..

Yup sure enough I got it home and the battery wouldn't charge. So I took it back and instead I ordered a benq A53 for $499 to which i shall add 512 or 1gb of ram. Great! Worth the extra cost really.
