I am relpacing a Dell XPS M1530 that I received refurbished when Dell replaced another refurbished computer, I have had the XPS M1530 totally refurbished by Dell three times so I decided to get rid of it rather than have to hassel with Dell and have them send me yet another reburbished laptop.

I am wondering what brand of laptop would be good to replace it with, ie: HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Acer, ect. I will have only about $550 to spend on something new, no more refurbished machines ever.:confused:

I would appreciate any help that I can get.

From my experience what I would suggest is dont go for Acer. It is for school children. I would prefer going for HP. The budget is little tight, but then you will get some good features compared to your old ones....

I am looking at an MSI VR601 and I noticed that the WLAN is aBuilt-in 802.11b/g WLAN Card, will that work with my Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router?? It is a WRT300N

What ever you do don't get Acer I got one last September and it just broke 2 days ago a sold it for $60 on craigslist. My sister has a Dell laptop and I really like it go with Dell or HP also look on newegg to see what they have. Yes your router will work with any laptop you get with a built in card. I use a Wireless N router but have a Wireless G network adaptor.

I will not deal with Dell ever again, I have had too many problems with their products and I got tied of talking to everyone in India when I called tech support.

I was wondering if anyone had any comments about the Gateway T-1424u laptop? It has a 14.1" screen and I kind of like the looks of it. It has a vent on the side rather than the back which I believe is good because it does not vent the heat out onto the battery.

I was wondering what items are required when you buy a MSI MS-171F Barebone Notebook, I know you need to add your own operating system, but do you need to add other parts???

Bah......... I gave up on getting a laptop, could not find anything decent in my price range so I gave in and bought a desktop computer for the time being. Once I get money ahead and can afford to buy a good laptop, I might get one then.

Samsung Laptops are also nice and its my personal experience with the Samsung Intel atom n270 laptop. Its really nice. Check it before take any decision. I think you will like. Go for that Dclstore. you will find it. :)
